FAQ
-
What is the difference between a solo, duo, trio, and quartet?"A Solo (violin or cello) is one instrument playing a melody and we recommend either a violin or cello. A Duet (violin and cello) has both melody and harmony/rhythm. Solo and duo performances are recommended for smaller audiences of 50 or less. Trio (violin, viola, cello) and Quartet (2 violins, viola, cello) are fuller sounding ensembles and recommended for larger audiences. Our Event Manager can help guide you in choosing the right sized ensemble for your event
-
Do you offer other instruments besides strings?Yes! We have a strong network of talented instrumentalists from harp, flute, piano, brass, etc. Our jazz combos feature saxophone, keyboard, drums, and bass, and can be modified to your liking.
-
What kind of music do you play?We have a vast repertoire from standard classical to popular music and we update it every year. If you have a special song request that is not on the list, just ask and we'll be happy to work with you!
-
Can I hear you play live?Live performances that are open to the public will be listed on our website and social media outlets, so stay tuned. You can always check out our website & soundcloud to hear our recorded samples that are frequently updated. To schedule an appointment with our performers we only request that we meet at our location in Philadelphia.
-
What is the general attire?Unless special requests are made, ESQ performers will be dressed in concert attire (dark suit or tuxedo for men and dark pant suit or dress for ladies)
-
Do you have insurance?YES, a whole $1,000,000 liability policy! We would be happy to send your venue or event coordinator a copy of our certificate of insurance
-
Can musicians play outdoors?Yes, however due to the sensitivity of our instruments, we cannot perform under direct sunlight, in the rain, or when temperatures become extreme. If your venue cannot provide shelter for the instruments, special arrangements (i.e. tent rental, other options for shade or cover) must be made prior to performance day.
-
I am worried that the music will not be loud enough. Can you provide amplification?Yes! Sometimes when there are a lot of guests or the venue is large, amplification is necessary. We offer a variety of sound upgrades and can make suggestions based on your venue and guest count.
